Dr. Stefan Meysman is a medieval historian who specialises in gender identity – and specifically masculinity – in different societal groups. In his PhD (2016), he focussed on religious and profane manhood in the narrative sources of the high medieval Low Countries. Since 2016, he is the research coordinator of the Pirenne Consortium for Medieval Studies (HPIMS) at Ghent University. Meysman is an societal impact professional with a main focus on the valuation of research in the social sciences, arts and humanities (SSAH). He is the Ghent University representative for the European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities. For HPIMS, he was a partner in the European CSA project ACCOMPLISSH (2016-2019) on co-creation between academia and societal stakeholders.
