Pascal Liévaux is a general heritage curator, head of the research department at the heritage directorate of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. He has a doctorate in art history and is a specialist of French architecture during the Ancien Régime. He teaches at the school of Chaillot, that trains heritage architects. As a part of his work at the French Ministry of Culture, he has contributed to the structuring of heritage sciences as an autonomous field of research, collaborating with academic researchers and heritage professionals, both in France and in Europe, in particular in the context of the Joint Programming initiative on Cultural Heritage he chairs since last November. He is also the French representative for the E-RIHS project of European infrastructure for heritage science.
