Marie-Caroline Schmied studied history between 2009 – 2015 in Fribourg, Switzerland. She earned her Master’s degree in medieval history in 2015. After working for a year in archives and in a library she went back to school and earned another Master’s Degree, this time in Digital Technologies Applied to History in Ecole nationale des chartes in Paris, France.
Since her graduation, she has been working in the Archives de l’État du Valais in Switzerland where she created a website for the 200th year of the Gietro catastrophe. She’s also partly responsible of the Sion Time Machine project, currently working with data and handwritten text recognition.
